Library
LAUSD is no longer funding a librarian position for Emerson.
We will do the best we can with our amazing library aide, Ms. Kitchen.
If you are a certificated teacher with time to volunteer at our library, please contact Kathy Gonnella, our principal. 
LIBRARY HOURS - We will see if we can set up before and after school hours.
We are open:  
  • Nutrition
  • Lunch
BOOK CHECK OUT
  • Students can check out 2 books at a time.
  • General library books are checked out for two weeks and can be renewed once.
  • Students must have a current id card to check out any books.
  • If an id card is lost, a replacement card can be issued once the library is notified.
LATE AND LOST BOOKS
  • Late books will be charged 10 cents a day--maximum fine is $5.00.
  • Students who lost a book will have to pay the cost to replace the book.
  • No student will be able to check out a book until all fines are paid.
Please note report cards will be held and participation in culmination will be denied if fines are not paid.
 
Monthly notices are sent to students' ET classes to remind them of their fines.
 
COMPUTERS
  • All students have access to our library catalog, Accent.
  • Students who have returned the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) and had their id card stamped can use the computers for class work and/or online research.
